Birchbox May Review

 

This is the best Birchbox I have ever received which makes me happy because May is my month and I turn 21!

 I love the design and all of the products, Birchbox have smashed it.

So all of the products come in this really cool Marble themed box and I love Marble theme / print so I am so happy with that. I have actually re-used the box now and it's storing all of my vintage style sunglasses! So it's come in good use hehe.

This month's products I think has got your set for the whole month, you've got an exfoliator for your pores, mascara, eyeshadow, hair mask and body creme. Really good choice of products this month.

So! Let's crack on shall we..

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow | Fifty Shades £14.49

I struggle with eyeshadows a little because I have slightly hooded / oily eye lids but this product isn't bad you just have to take your time as it's loose.

I like that this really pigmented, some shadows can be deceiving but this is quite dark just how it looks in the packaging , also it's 100% natural ingredients so winner winner. 

 

Doucce Punk Volumiser | £18.00

If you want big lashes this is going to be your new best friend! This is hands down the best mascara I have ever used, I usually struggle with mascaras because my lashes can be sensitive but this beauty is amaazingg! 

Your lashes look so much more defined and they bigger with each stroke, and I didn't even use an eyelash curler before. 

Kueshi Shine & Volume Mask | £10.50

Big love for this product! Smells amazing and leaves your hair, soft tangle free and shineeyy!

It's got rice proteins, calendula oil, jojaba oil and shea butter in and adds in instant hydration. It's a really nice product with a nice smell I'm going to be sad when I use this up.

dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion | £ 43.00

This is brilliant and I'm going to be annoyed when I run out because it's a pricey product.

I struggle with my pores and whenever I look in the mirror, they stand out especially with makeup on but honestly after 2 uses with this miracle worker they were gone. I couldn't believe it because a lot of products don't work I get disheartened but this does the job and doesn't take 6 weeks to see results.

Whish Rice Milk Firming Body Cream | £13.50

Nice little product, nice soft scent and leaves your skin feeling soft and silky smooth and also has a lot of natural ingredients. 

This product is also meant to target the appearance of stretch marks and blemishes but I don't have many stretch marks at all so let me know in the comments if this has worked for you.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

Estee Lauder - Double Wear Foundation Review 

The day has come where my prayers have finally been answered! After 5 years of what feels like trying every foundation in the world I have finally found 'the one' for me. 

I have gone through so many foundations from cheap to expensive and accidentally looking like an orange at times, finally those days have gone *phew*.

Estee Lauder has ironically saved me so much money, stress and has boosted my confidence with how I look and feel.

So back in February someone told me about the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation so I watched a few YouTube videos of people who have the same skin type as me (oily/acne prone) and I couldn't believe how well it covered up their acne and how flawless it looked, so I googled the different shades and I chose 1 N 2 ECRU it's only a touch darker for me which I'm fine with as I'm pale and it blends in really well.

Now let's talk about the application, personally I find if you don't cleanse, tone, moisturise and apply the right primer it looks cakey and dry on your skin so at first I thought oh gosh this isn't for me but then I reapplied after moisturizing etc. properly and my gosh it was a flawless and natural finish I could not believe it, I have never had a foundation before that looks and feels so nice on me! The Primer is perfect as well, it's silky and applies beautifully.

What it says on the label:

• 15 hour staying power
• Natural, semi matte finish (I find you can get full coverage if you apply 2 layers)
• Long-wearing makeup stays fresh  and looks natural through heat, humidity and non-stop activity
• Won't change colour, smudge, or come off on clothes
• Feels lightweight and comfortable

This foundation does everything it says on the bottle, it's perfect and for me it's lasted longer than 15 hours. I would definitely recommend this foundation.

Before  

This is a photo of me before I applied the foundation, I cleansed and moisturised and then applied the Estee Lauder  Illuminating Perfecting Primer.

After 

This is me after I applied one layer of foundation, I let it settle and then I applied a light contour with the Blank Canvas Cosmetics Contour Palette.

Samples

With the Estee Lauder order you receive a couple of samples which I am really pleased about because you can get a good few uses out of them and from there you can decide if you want to buy the full sized product. Now I was meant to review the first samples when I first ordered Estee Lauder but at the time a lot was going on so I didn't manage to sit down and write about them, so I'm going to do Part 1 and Part 2 for my second order.

Illuminating Perfecting Primer 5ml :

I love this primer as much as I love the Bare Minerals Prime time, it's a dream.

Smells lovely, so silky and goes so well with the foundation and doesn't feel heavy, I will definitely be buying a full sized product.

Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam 5ml :

Now I will admit I haven't been consistant with this product, I never am with day and night time products. However it does feel lovely and doesn't irritate my skin which a lot of products do, I will update this little section once I've used it more.

Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Creme

This is another product that I haven't rushed to try as it's aimed at people with aging skin who want to look after it, I will update this section in a few days. But it does sound good from the description, it's supposed to unlock your skin's potential, with a bounce and a glow with radiant vitality. It's a nourishing, multi action creme with Moringa Plant Extract which improves skin's elasticity, helps it feel firmer and look plumper. Line and wrinkles appear reduced. 

Modern Muse | Eau de Parfum Spray 

 I always love a perfume sample, I trying new scents, so I get excited when samples come in the post.  Personally I prefer Modern Muse La Rouge to this scent because this one is a bit 'musky'.

Part 2 

Day Wear Matte 1.5ml 

This is a product that I've needed and wanted to try for a while now, it helps to control oil and minimise shine for 8 hours giving a matte finish, which is something that my skin is craving. 

Also it leaves the skin feeling fresh, smooth, soft and hydrated and it does all of that, I could only get 1 application out of it but it seemed to work for me, it's on my Estee Lauder wish list.

Modern Muse Le Rouge | Eau de Parfum

This fragrance has a deliciously sweet scent to it which is why I think I love it so much, it's described as rich roses awakened by ripe fruits, with a seductive velvet creme accord which provide an intriguing dual impression, and it lives by it's description.
